Rio Grande Navajo Loom, Large | WEAVING SOUTHWEST | Taos New Mexico

Rio Grande Navajo Loom, Large

Designed by Rachel Brown.

For centuries, masterpieces of textile art have been created by Pueblo and Navajo weavers using this type of "primitive stick" loom. Over 20,000 weavers of the Navajo Nation today use this loom. What more can we say? Many other weavers today are becoming interested in the Navajo weaving techniques.

Specifications of the Large Rio Grande Navajo Loom:
Accommodates a 60" x 40" weaving, or (using up and over technique) 120" x 40".
Actual loom size: 89" x 51".
Alder wood, lightly finished with Danish oil.
$1,000

Included are all the rods, dowels, ropes, and a sacking needle, as well as our favorite Navajo fork and curved-end battens.

We also manufacture a Small Navajo Loom.

For instructions on Navajo weaving recommend Rachel Brown's Weaving on a Navajo Loom, Charles Amsden's Navajo Weaving and Noel Bennett's Navajo Weaving Way.

There is a crating fee of $75 for this loom. We will charge actual cost to ship this loom. If you leave your zip code in the inquiry form, we can calculate shipping before we contact you.
